We pledge to be allies for all 2SLGBTQIA+ communities. Allyship means listening, learning, and caring. It means engaging and making an effort to understand. It means accepting 2SLGBTQIA+ people’s identities earnestly and supportively, and standing up to hatred in every context. We commit to being genuine and respectful with all 2SLGBTQIA+ people we encounter.
In practice, we include all 2SLGBTQIA+ people in our space. We will not assume pronouns or orientations, and default to gender neutral language such as “they” and “person” in referring to someone whose pronouns we don’t know. We will stand with 2SLGBTQIA+ people seeking to address historical injustices faced by all marginalized groups, particularly in Indigiqueer, two-spirit, racialized, and trans+ communities.
